Business Rules (Assessments)
Business Rules allows you to create your own logic behind your surveys and quizzes. With Business Rules you can show a different end screen for every kind of situation. You can use this feature for:
- Maturity assessments
- Personality tests
- Personal measurements: health, physical excercice
- Self assessment
- Customer satisfaction surveys
- Knowledge quizzes with personal advice
You can also choose a logic that sends emails to the respondent after they’ve completed the survey or quiz, depending on the answers they gave or the scores they’ve obtained. This way you can send advice, invitations or information based on the needs of the respondent. More information about sending these emails can be found here.

2 Set your Outcomes
Go to Extra options.
Go to Outcomes.
Add as many outcomes as you need by clicking on the green ‘+Add Outcome‘-button. An outcome is a conclusion reached through a series of questions. These outcomes are the possible conclusions you are going to show to your respondents at the end of the survey/quiz, depending on the answers they gave.
A pop-up screen will appear, giving you the possibility to choose the type of outcome.
2.1 Basic Outcome
‘Title‘ is a working title, it won’t show on the end screen. Enter your text and links in the box ‘Text’. An extra image, GIF, video, or audio can be uploaded by clicking on the ‘Choose File‘-button.
2.2 Gauge outcome
In the Gauge outcome the ‘Title‘ will be shown in the gauge. Enter your text and links in the box ‘Text’.
Keep in mind that the additional text in your Final Screen under tab 1 Edit Questions will show in the end screen as well. This text will be added to all your outcomes and will be shown under the text of your individual outcomes. So if you want to show an extra message to your respondents, regardless of the outcome, you can enter it here (such as a link, contact information, next steps, etc.) You can delete the text or add a new additional text.
In this example three different outcomes are used to rate the level of expertise concerning a certain subject.

- Switch Quiz Question to Yes
- Indicate the right answer
- Add an Explanation
4 Create your Business Rules
Go back to the main menu of Extra options
Go to Business Rules.
Make your first Business Rule by adjusting the text in the dropdown boxes. If you want to delete the business rule, click on the red bin.
You can specify your rules by adding more conditions. You add another condition by clicking on the green ‘+’-button. You can delete conditions by clicking on the red ‘-‘-button. You can specify your business rules, but you can also add different rules for one outcome by putting the first drop down of the second condition on OR.
Add all the business rules you need to complete your logic.
Another possibility is to send an email with more information to the respondent, depending on his/her answers. You can send the results in an email, or show the outcome and combine this with an email. More information about how to set these emails can be found here.
You can also set Business Rules for scores per Question Block. This way you can use scores of a combination of questions to determine your outcome or email. E.g.: You have a test with 3 different modules or subjects. You can group the questions of each subject or module in a Question Block in order that they only get emails for the subject they scored badly on. Learn more about Question Blocks here.
