When you don’t have the time or staff to man your survey devices such as a tablet, you can just leave the tablet in kiosk mode in the store, at the stand,… Given that the survey/quiz can automatically return to the Intro Screen, no staff is required. You might want to consider following features when you leave your survey/quiz unmanned.
1 Automatic Back to start
When a respondent takes the survey/quiz on your device in kiosk mode he/she will feel no need to reload the survey/quiz after completing it. However it’s necessary in order that the first screen of the survey/quiz is visible when a new respondent wants to take the survey/quiz. Auto Redirect can make the survey/quiz reload on its own in order that the survey/quiz is always ready to be taken. When you set Auto redirect after 10 sec. to ‘Yes’, the survey will auto-redirect to the first screen (e.g.: Intro Screen, Language Selection Screen, first question,…) after 10 seconds on the Final Screen.
You can find this feature in the Final Screen under the tab Edit Questions at the bottom of the page.
More information about the Final Screen can be found here.
When it’s important for you to know where the respondents take the survey/quiz, you can turn on Geolocation. When the location on the device is turned on at the moment someone takes the survey/quiz, you will receive the location in your results and in your confirmation mail. E.g.: when you use one survey in three different stores to measure overall happiness, you can know from which store a specific (negative) response came by looking at the Geolocation.
You can find Geolocation under the tab Extra options in the first overview of the Settings.
This is how the location shows in your results:

3 Idle Timeout
When you put your survey/quiz on an unmanned iPad in a store, and someone quits in the middle of the survey, you don’t want to leave the survey/quiz on that page. The Idle Timeout times the period of inactivity and returns the survey/quiz to the Intro Screen after an amount of seconds you choose yourself. You can choose whether or not you want to keep the data of an incomplete survey/quiz by turning Save Session on or off.
4 Save on Exit
Go to Extra Options. In the list of Settings you’ll find Save on Exit. This feature makes sure the answers to the survey/quiz are saved in case a respondent closes his or her browser. In other cases the answers will only be saved when the respondents clicks on Complete.
