A Question Pool contains all the questions you’ve made in a survey/quiz and gives you the option to only show a certain number of these questions to the respondent. Each respondent will therefore receive different questions and experience the quiz/survey differently. This is a good way to assemble a lot of different information while only using short surveys with a high response rate.

1) Get started
Once you have all your questions, save your progress
2) Set the Question Pool
Go to Extra options and choose Skip logic and question grouping.
You can use the question pool in two different ways:
- Select a certain number of questions out of all your questions
- Keep some questions (e.g.: datacollection) fixed, and only show a certain number of questions in the survey out of the rest of your questions
2.1 Question Pool out of all questions
When you want to select a certain number of questions out of all your questions turn on Question Pool in Question Block 1 (your only Question Block). A number will appear next to the buttons. Here you can select the number of questions out of all your questions you want to show in your survey/quiz. E.g.: Here I have 6 questions, and I’ve set the number next to the buttons to 3. So my survey/quiz will consist out of 3 questions, randomly chosen out of this Question Pool. Every time I open the quiz, I will see new questions.
2.2 Question pool out of a selection of questions
If you want several questions to be fixed in your survey, and others be to selected out of a Question Pool, you are going to separate the fixed questions from the question pool questions by using the Question Blocks. The next steps will describe a situation in which you want your first data-collection question to be fixed, and the other questions to be randomly selected out of a Question Pool.
Start by adding a new Question Block by clicking on the green ‘Add Question Block’-button.
Move the questions you want to have in your question pool to the second block by clicking on the ‘Move to next block’-button for each question. If you have made a mistake and moved a question to many, you can put it back by clicking on the ‘Move to previous block’-button.
All the questions that you want to have fixed are still in the first block.
Turn on Question Pool in the second Question Block. A number will appear next to the buttons. Here you can select the number of questions out of all your questions you want to show in your survey/quiz. Set the number of questions you want to appear in your survey/quiz.
If you also want to have questions fixed after your Question Pool: Make a third Question Block and move all the questions you want to have fixed after the Question Pool to the third block by clicking on ‘Move to next block’ for each question.
